A fault is a geological structure in which rocks strata were fractured under stress, with the obvious displacement happening along the fractured plane. A fold is a geological structure which the strata were bent after stress. Here, the fault is a thrust fault with an up-block uplifted and a lower-block moved down. The fold, consisting of syclines and anticlines here, was produced during fault movement.
